This year’s 289.0nm Chicago Mackinac Race saw the fleet start in light to medium southeasterly winds and bright sunshine. By 2:00 pm, all boats were on their way north up to Mackinac Island. It ended up being a fast, thrilling race. Most of the fleet missed the Sunday AM storms. However, no one missed those on Saturday late evening, with lightning, squalls and rain. The Division 5 Doublehanded fleet had seven boats. Winning the past three years straight has been Andy Graff & Scott Eisenhardt’s EXILE, and they won again. Chasing them hard were Ben Marden’s BANTER in second place and Justin Acker & Ted Lockwood’s McQUEEN in third. For more Chicago Mackinac Race information, visit https://cycracetomackinac.com/.
