The first major regatta of the season on San Francisco Bay for the St. Francis Yacht Club is the annual Spring Fest held after Easter weekend. Fleets were treated to good weather with six races held for the two-day event. For the J/88s, seven enthusiastic teams congregated at the starting line for their first test of the year. Winning, counting five bullets, was Brice Dunwoodie’s RAVENETTE. Behind them, it was a battle for the balance of the podium and, appropriately, it was determined by a tie-breaker at 12 points each. Winning the countback was Christos Karamanolis’s PELAGIA, with Tom Thayer and Robert Milligan’s SPEEDWELL having to settle for third.
